Robbin Uatokuja has a passion for community based conservation in Northwest Namibia. Based in Purros, he works tirelessly to strengthen the connection between community wellbeing and sustainability to thriving wildlife populations. Robbin is a leading figure in sustainable tourism development, community development and wildlife conservation, believing that all three are necessary for a bright future. Robbin grew up herding goats and sheep before becoming a wildlife guide 14 years ago. He trained guides from surrounding conservancies in the art of locating illusive wildlife and understanding complex animal behaviors. He then managed the Purros Community Bushlodge and Campsite for three years. In addition Robbin is a management committee member of the Purros Conservancy and Chairperson of the Purros Development Committee.
